Shoes with personality

It's incredible how much you can tell about a person by looking at their footwear. Sometimes it seems as though shoes can tell you stories all on their own.

Orange and leopard

The classic whites

(How adorable is the blue stain?)
The "don't mess" boots.

Can you guess which designers these shoes belong to?

Authentique... Thomas Wakeford

Thomas wasn't keen to have his picture taken, but he did offer to give us a taste of his style.

Levi's...

... and Reeboks!

Dapper Drew

Drew is never boring in his shades of grey that always include a tailored jacket and dapper hat.

Close-up of the sleeve... leaves you wondering, is it one deconstructed jacket or two different pieces?
Hmm... what do you think?

Raf Simons tribute

Following Raf Simons' very impressive Jil Sander collection that was reflective of our society's obsession with hyperactive technology and social media, I thought it appropriate to share this. I found this bag lying around in one of the 3rd floor studios at Central Saint Martins:

It's the Raf Simons backpack that he designed for Eastpak! Okay, perhaps it is not completely on topic, but this bag nonetheless shows his design and consulting talent. Simons managed to give functional Eastpak a modern and casual edge without sacrificing what the brand stands for: a durable, dependable backpack. The design is not complicated, but that makes its cool, unique look even more effective.

Maarten's Margiela

When I photographed Maarten, he showed me his incredible bracelet from Martin Margiela. So fascinating, in fact, that I felt compelled to give it its own post.

I mean... come on.

Impeccable Nika

I am always amazed when I see Nika because she does not do half way. Every detail of her outfit, from her accessories to her makeup to her perfectly asymmetrical haircut, is always in place. Be it in the morning or late at night after she has been sewing in the studio all day, Nika always looks immaculately put together.

Nika had this coat custom-made for her, so it should come as no surprise that her name is embroidered on the inside lining

She designed this awesome geometric bag for her graduate BA collection at Central Saint Martins

As always, she tries to pull interesting colors together in her outfit

What will I do after she graduates?
